Recreation is close by. At the end of Crown Avenue is the trail head for Valentine Mountain, an easy hike of 20 minutes to get to a fabulous view point overlooking the Mill and Malaspina Strait. This is good dog-walking country too, with lots of trails around to Powell and Cranberry lakes. For any avid curlers, the main curling rink is just a couple of doors down Crown Avenue.
